Carnival season started on January 6th and last w-end  we had a very busy w-end with an amazing carnival show and on Sunday we crowned our kids Tumba Festival Queen with her Tumba titled “un brasa tei uni nos” (a hug will unit us). As you can imagine we are in full swing.

Carnival Group

Carnaval Casino at Renaissance Hotel will give away a lot of prizes to name a few tickets to Tumba Festival, stay at Renaissance hotel during the carnival season. This price mania will be valid till February 21st.
The coming w-end Curacao will host the first Jump-in on Friday 20th. This is the CDC/UDC jump-in. The bands GIO, Dreams and DJ Bradley will be present to animate the jump-in. Dress code is Black and Yellow. Tickets are available at Beep Beep and Koko Loko for $14.
De Kabrieten, a carnival group is organizing a party on January 28th to say farewell to their 2011 princess and the new 2012 princess or prince will be elected.
On the same day Radio Mas 99.7 will organize a Jump-up in Salinia. The bands GIO, ERA and Dreams will be entertaining the crowd. Beep Beep and Pomp station St. Maria are selling tickets.
Monday January 30th is the first night of tumba festival at Festival Center. Prepare yourself to experience an entire week full of tumba music and on Friday 3rd the climax with the crowning of the tumba King or Queen.
The most famous Lions Club theme party will be held in the month of February. 2012 theme is Circo mania. This party has an open premium bar, buffet and accessories music by ERA, Dreams, Happy Peanuts, Daiquiri band and DJ Boogieman. All this for $140 p.p.  Date and place February 11th at WTC from 9 pm till 2 in the morning.

Happy New Year.
May all your wishes become reality! These year starts with a lot of activities. The most popular is Carnival.
January 1st, There’s the annual Fan party with Gio and Dreams at Club Façade. January 7th, the Official opening of the carnival season at Kleine Werf.  Entrance free, but there is the opportunity to donate and contribute with carnival in general. Following there is the Roadfire festival with all popular local bands.

December 2011

Merry Christmas for all Vacation-in-Curacao readers and there families.
Merry Christmas to all.
The past weeks were very busy weeks and the following weeks will be busier. We’re entering the last days of the year with a lot of activities. I will address a few activities. There will be a Gala Party at Holiday Beach hotel with Son CC and Arnell’s orchestra. It’s an all inclusive party for $75. This will take place Christmas night.
There are several farewell parties with fireworks or better known as “pagara”. Most of the parties are for free. The most popular is at Larry’s restaurant December, 31 from 5 till 9 pm with live entertainment. At midnight, the same day Mgr. Secco will bless the New Year at Brionplein.  After that you can enjoy “the Big Band party” at Renaissance with Dreams and Rumba band for $25. Or go to Holiday Beach Hotel to the PSH party (back to the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s) for $28.

October 2011

Curacao is a very special island. Year round is Sunny, so there's a lot of activities one can organize and participate in.

And these coming months are no exception.

Curacao dedicate the month of October to breast cancer awareness. Our city Willemstad, dresses in pink to make everybody aware of this disease.

Coming up there is a “Fatum Loop”. It’s a marathon walk sponsored by Insurance company Fatum. This walk takes place on the 30th of October. It starts at Fatum at 6.30 am and finishes at Wet and Wild. To participate you have to subscribe at Fatum head office on days October 24th till October 28th from 18.00 till 21.00.


At the end of October there are different Halloween parties in different places like disco.


Cycling




On Saturday the 5th of November the 10th edition of the Amstel Curacao Race will take place. Cycling stars like Andy and Frank Cavendish will be present at the after-party of the cycling season.





On the 11th and 12th of November we celebrate our famous Heineken Regatta.During the day you can sit at the various terraces and watch the boats compete against each other and at night it's party time. In the Heineken village (in Punda at Kleine Werf) there is several concerts with local and international artists like Tito "El Bambino", Elvis Crespo, Enmeris and Ephrem J. The prices are affordable for everyone.It various between 28 USD and 45 USD.
